VERY behind

quick update/review:

-I graduated from BYU in april! -very exciting because i had the unique opp to graduate the same day as my best friend which also happens to also be my brother.

- I went the last 4 months without internet. I actually loved it. I made a goal to retrain my mind to learn things because they are worth remembering not because i have an exam on it.

- I picked up a huge interest in astrology. I'm a cancer, but on the cusp of gemini. I would love to answer any questions you have about it. It's one of my favorite topics.

- I saw my roommate of the past 3 years and my longest standing college friend, Bethany kalei Chun get married to my brother's roommate Marshall Comstock in the Oakland temple.

-I traveled to Fresno with my best friends Cameron & Marni to visit Cam's hometown. Ate the best pulled pork sandwich. Met some very funny people (check out these arches). More then anything just enjoyed the adventures.

- Had two former roommates, Jenny Jones & Brittany Morrill get called to the same mission! McAllen Texas, Spanish speaking.

- Found & raised the most precious kitgee named Mowgli this summer

- Spent a couple weeks in Idaho with my family. Ate a lot of empanadas. Made great friends. Visited District 9 a bunch.

- Went to Bear Lake with fishkins and experienced an alternate life where everything was great and you could have whatever you wanted. i wanna go back.

- My tia Marlen in Chile had multiple brain aneurisms and is trying to recover. She's always in my prayers.

- Went bike riding, swimming, & double dutched almost everyday this summer.

- Reread the Bell Jar and fell in love with Sylvia Plath again.

- Went to so many free concerts and saw many incredible DJ's.

- Just recently moved to SLC and love my new house ("why'd you move to slc when you always are in provo?"- daniel)

- Felt a very deep sadness that i'm still trying to climb out of.

- Loved every last minute of garden vegetables and farmer's markets.

- Have tickets to go to Chile on Dec. 12th. and am SO excited. It will have been 5 years since i've seen my family there.

i'm back. even tho i'm 500 blog years behind.
this one's for you hilla.

class blogger

For some reason i'm always inspired to blog when i'm in class.  It's not inspiration drawn from a stimulating class discussion but from boredom.

My body hates changing the clock.  The hour we set our clocks ahead really messed up my schedule.  Waking up for church on sunday morning was almost as bad as having to wake up for seminary at 5:15 am back in HS. ugh.
At least the sun is still out when i leave my evening class at 5:45pm.

Why is finding an empty house for spring/summer so hard ?
i wanna just move all the zoobs into the places where they will find their counterparts like glenwood and other such locations to free up the house spaces for me.
git out.

Cammmm -a-lam took some pictures at our last big snowfall in february.
here are a few of my favorites that she took. -- this girl izzzz g00d.

rumbi & a show

Last Wednesday Colin invited me to go see DeVotchKa.  We had rumbi island grill and good conversation on the way only to top it off with one of the most entertaining concerts i've been to.  DeVotchKa is a four piece multi instrumental ensemble [ a tuba wrapped with christmas lights!] that fuses Romanic, Greek, Slavic, Mariachi with punk and folklore.
Not to mention Colin's favorite part--a very very hot rope dancer/ entertainer.

chinese new yeeeere.

People born in the Year of the Ox are patient, speak little, and inspire confidence in others. They tend, however, to be eccentric, and bigoted, and they anger easily. They have fierce tempers and although they speak little, when they do they are quite eloquent. Ox people are mentally and physically alert. Generally easy-going, they can be remarkably stubborn, and they hate to fail or be opposed. They are most compatible with Snake, Rooster, and Rat people.

although i believe the part about the ox[jason] and the rat getting along i'm not sure "speak little, and patience" really define jason.  lolcats.

The Lunar New Year, which begins today, ushers in the Year of the Ox. Those born under the Ox sign are dependable, calm, modest and stable. But the ox (or buffalo, cow or bull) takes on added significance in a year of global financial hardship, explains Nine-Min Cheng, community outreach director of Houston's Chinese Community Center. "We need the Year of the Ox. We want a bull market," says Cheng.

1. Bullish on Obama

President Obama, who has pledged to begin rehabilitating the economy, was born in an ox year. Those born in this year achieve through hard work and routine.

2. True blues

The ox, according to Chinese astrology, is the best friend you could choose. So are ox celebrities Meryl Streep, George Clooney, Dustin Hoffman, Jane Fonda and Warren Beatty good to their friends? Other ox celebrities include Meg Ryan, Bruce Springsteen, Bill Cosby, Robert Redford and Jim Carrey.

3. Know thy Ox

Ox lucky numbers, according to an online horoscope, are 1, 3, 5, 12, 15, 33, 35, 51 and 53. Ox careers include composer, landlord, doctor, cook, police officer, teacher, judge, banker, insurance broker and gardener.
